It's been a truly wild postseason for Major League Baseball this year, and the result is a rare Wild Card World Series, where not a single division winner managed to make it. But it certainly wasn't a easy journey for either the Texas Rangers or the Arizona Diamondbacks, both of which had to endure a full 7-game round in the Championship Series.

For the Rangers, that series against in-state rivals the Houston Astros was an emotional roller coaster, taking the first two games in Houston before dropping three in a row in their home stadium. Every single game in that series was won by the road team--that's not something you see every year.

The Diamondbacks, meanwhile are one of baseball's ultimate underdog stories, who only made the playoffs at all because of choke jobs by other teams. On paper, they have absolutely no business being in the World Series. And yet, here they are.

The TV situation for the World Series is pretty simple: every game in this series will be broadcast on Fox, will start at 8 PM ET, and will have Joe Davis and John Smoltz working as the announcers. Unfortunately, there's no cheap, standalone streaming service for this like Peacock for NBC or Paramount+ for CBS. Let's look at the schedule.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Texas Rangers

The Rangers are the betting favorite, naturally. Despite this deep postseason run, the Diamondbacks are one of the worst teams to ever make the World Series, and backed into the postseason despite losing their final four games of the regular season--they got lucky that the Cubs were worse down the stretch. At 84 wins, the Diamondbacks would have the second-worst record of any World Series winner, ahead of the 83-win Cardinals in 2006.

But, again, the Diamondbacks did just sweep the Dodgers a couple weeks ago, and the 90-win Rangers are a Wild Card team too--anything can happen in this series.

There are two main options for watching Fox sans cable: for free, over the air, with a digital antenna; and with a streaming TV subscription like HuluSlingDIRECTV, and FuboTV.
