Finally, some good news: AMC has released the first extended look at Interview with the Vampire Season 2. In the three-minute clip, we get a taste of one of the most important eras in Louis' life: his time with the Théâtre des Vampires. 2024 can't come soon enough.

There's still so much more ground to cover from Anne Rice's book series, and we'll update this post as we learn more. Here's everything we know about Interview with the Vampire Season 2 so far.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 latest news

Bienvenue, Armand. Ahead of New York Comic Com, AMC dropped the first extended look at Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, which finds Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) arriving in France alongside the Théâtre des Vampires troupe. We also get our first extended looks at Armand (Assad Zaman) and Santiago (Ben Daniels) — and the clip reminds us that Louis is still very much thinking about Lestat (Sam Reid). To this, we offer a resounding, "Oui, oui!"

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 teaser

On July 21, AMC released the first teaser trailer for Season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con. In it, we get a look at the pivotal Paris chapter of Louis' life, where he and Claudia find themselves involved with the legendary Théâtre des Vampires.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 release date prediction

On Aug. 31, Deadline reported that Interview with the Vampire would resume filming on Season 2 after AMC reached an "interim agreement" with SAG-AFTRA. A few things to note: This agreement is specific to three AMC series only — IWTV and the Walking Dead spin-offs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live — and not an overall deal between the studio and the guild, and there was no word on whether a similar agreement was made with the WGA. Still, this marked the first major agreement between a studio and SAG. According to the teaser trailer, the series is set to return in 2024.

"Bulgaria. Romania. Paris. (Ah Paris!) San Francisco. New Orleans. Dubai," showrunner and executive producer Rolin Jones said in a statement when the series was renewed. "The writing staff of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire is honored, humbled, and hungry to add more stamps to our vamps' passport books. All praises be to our fearless network, we shall endeavor not to screw it up."

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 cast

Bailey Bass announced in March that she will not return as Claudia for Season 2, with Delainey Hayles set to replace her into the role. "Due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances I'm unable to return to Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire for the second season," Bass said. "Playing Claudia has been a dream role and an incredible ride. I wish Delainey the best of luck in taking over. I cannot wait to watch. I'm extremely appreciative of AMC, the producers, Jacob, Sam, the crew and, of course, the wonderful fans."

News of Bass' departure comes after the announcement that Ben Daniels will join as a series regular in Season 2. Daniels, a veteran of the stage and The Crown Season 3 who also appear in Season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is set to play Santiago, a member of the French Theatre des Vampires who grows suspicious of the Louis and Claudia. He joins returning players Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, and Eric Bogosian. Expect Assad Zaman to play a bigger role in Season 2, now that we officially know his character's true identity as the vampire Armand, one of the most important figures from Rice's books.
