Netflix's Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, from creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, was a massive hit, so it only makes sense that the streamer would order more of it. And it did! In November, Netflix renewed the series for two more seasons. But it was only this May when we found out who would be the subjects of Season 2: the Menendez brothers.

After being announced in late 2022, we're finally getting some important information about Season 2. Below, we'll try to answer some questions you may have, including when Monster Season 2 will be released, what it will be about, and who will be in it.

Here's what we know so far about Monster Season 2 on Netflix.

Monster Season 2 latest news

Netflix finally revealed who will be the subjects of Monster Season 2: Lyle and Erik Menendez, better known as the Menendez brothers. The duo made headlines for killing their parents in their Beverly Hills home in 1989, becoming media sensations in the process. The official title for Season 2 will be Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story

Monster Season 2 release date prediction

There's no release date yet, but Murphy is very prolific and this show is huge, so we wouldn't be surprised if it's back online within a year and a half of the official renewal, which was announced in November 2022. That being said, the gaps between American Crime Story seasons range from just under two years to almost three and a half years, so there's not really a pattern to draw from. We'll simply have to wait and see.

Who will Monster Season 2 be about?

In May, Netflix revealed that Lyle and Erik Menendez will be the subject of Season 2. The brothers were convicted of murdering their parents, José and Kitty, with shotguns at their Beverly Hills home on Aug. 20, 1989, in one of the most famous murder cases in the United States. Lyle was 21 years old and Kyle was 18 years old at the time. The Menendez brothers claimed that they suffered from lifelong abuse at the hands of their parents and murdered them out of fear for their own lives. Both are currently serving life sentences without parole in prison.

Monster renewal news

Netflix renewed Monster for Seasons 2 and 3 — and Murphy and Brennan's The Watcher for Season 2 — on Nov. 7. "The future installments of Monster will tell the stories of other monstrous figures who have impacted society," according to Netflix.

Monster Season 2 trailer

We're a long way from a trailer, but it will be here when it's ready.

Monster Season 2 cast

No one has been cast in Monster Season 2 yet, but Murphy likes to work with the same actors over and over again — Dahmer star Evan Peters is a veteran of the American Horror Story franchise, as well as Murphy's drag ball drama Pose, to name one example — so we anticipate there will be at least one familiar face from the Ryan Murphyverse somewhere in the cast.

Where to watch

Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is available to stream on Netflix. Further seasons will also be on Netflix.
