First Look: Alcatraz: The Complete Series DVD Unlocks Set Secrets

Alcatraz may have only lasted 13 episodes, but it'll live on forever in HD. Warner Bros. is releasing the series from cancellation jail and onto DVD and Blu-ray shelves Tuesday, and TV Guide Magazine has an exclusive first look at one of the features. The Fox show followed present-day San Francisco copper Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones), her sidekick "Doc" Soto (Lost's Jorge Garcia), and FBI bossman Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill) as they tried to corral the various prisoners who mysteriously vanished at Alcatraz's closure in 1963 and have just as mysteriously turned up in 2012. Alcatraz: The Complete Series includes the standard gag reel and deleted scenes, as well as a special behind-the-scenes look at what made this one-season wonder tick. The clip below shows the lengths the crew took to get the Vancouver set looking so close to the real Alcatraz, the producers couldn't tell the difference.

Will Alcatraz Return for Season 2? Series Boss Sounds Off on That and More!

Read at your own risk.] Alcatraz's two-hour season finale left viewers thunderstruck after fan-favorite heroine Rebecca (Sarah Jones) met her demise at the hands of her grandfather (David Hoflin). Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Finale Edition -- Did Our Favorite Character Just Die?!

Hopefully Fox picks up Alcatraz for a second season because the two-hour season finale left viewers with plenty of new questions — and one possible major death. In the season ender, Rebecca (Sarah Jones) finally came face-to-face with her grandfather, Tommy (David Hoflin), who is apparently one of the lieutenants on the side of the '63s faction who work for the Warden (Jonny Coyne). The other side is lead by Harlan (Steven Grayhm), and possibly Matt Craven's mysterious man (whom we'll call MM throughout the story since he has no name) behind the door. What are their ultimate goals? Still not completely clear, but we do have a new theory. Why were they divided? Somebody broke a promise. Dissecting Alcatraz's Mysteries: Lucy Finally Wakes Up!

Finally, Rebecca (Sarah Jones) and Diego (Jorge Garcia) know almost as much as the Alcatraz audience! After Rebecca ponders what life would be like if she could hit the reset button, the pair finally learned about the colloidal silver, and that Lucy (Parminder Nagra) is... one of the '63s! Oh, and Lucy finally woke up from her coma, thanks to the blood of a '63 named Webb Porter (Rami Malek), a former patient of Lucille's who suffered from a ringing in his ears that drove him insane.
